DESIGN STAGE · PATENT PENDING

A card that studies the machine it is installed in, and then builds the operating system to fit that machine. It holds its own processor, memory, storage and clock, so that the thing establishing trust does not depend on the thing being trusted.

Development status

No hardware has been built. This is a design-stage research programme covered by a provisional patent application filed in March 2026. There is no prototype, no production schedule, and no unit available for purchase or evaluation. Component selection remains open. This page is published to describe the concept to prospective development partners.

The Idea

Every boot is a
hardware-specific build

Operating systems ship as one binary intended to run on millions of different machines. All the work of adapting to the specific hardware present happens at runtime, through layers of detection, abstraction and generic drivers — and that generality is both a performance cost and a large attack surface.

NexusFabric inverts this. At power-on, before the host processor is trusted with anything, the card characterizes the machine it is sitting in: what processors are present, how memory is arranged, which devices exist and how they are connected. It then composes a system tailored to exactly that arrangement, and hands control to it.

Because the card carries its own compute, memory, storage, clock and power, it is not dependent on the host to do this. It can measure the host without asking the host to measure itself — which is the property that makes an attestation worth having.

This is a different proposition from remote desktops and virtual desktop infrastructure, which move pictures of a machine across a network and stop working when the network does. The intent here is that the computing environment itself relocates and then re-forms against whatever hardware it finds — which is only possible if something on each machine knows precisely what that machine is. That is the card's job.

A secondary consequence matters for infrastructure owners: if the operating system is composed to the hardware rather than assuming it, older machines stop being obsolete on the schedule their vendor prefers.

Open Questions

Stated plainly

Enerdyne publishes the unresolved items rather than implying they are settled: selection of the programmable logic family and its supplier; the protocol by which cards in different machines coordinate; physical form factors beyond a standard expansion card; and the thermal and power budget for each of those. These are the subjects on which Enerdyne is seeking development partners.

Intellectual Property

Protection

A United States provisional patent application covering per-instance hardware topology synthesis, the approval-token protocol, and capability-enforced exclusion of automated components was filed on 25 March 2026 by Enerdyne LLC, inventor Jonathan West Colby. The card is the hardware element of the architecture described under SynthOS.

Development partners

Enerdyne is interested in conversations with programmable-logic vendors, secure-hardware specialists, and infrastructure operators for whom provable boot integrity is a requirement.
